Cocktails 2: Rise of the Margarita

I recently designed four images to be used on drinks coasters, each inspired by a different signature cocktail. These are not anything to do with my last post, but it does feel like most things I draw at the moment are based around alcohol. This is quite possibly why nobody has asked me to illustrate a children's book yet.

My Tales of Cock.

TGI Friday's asked me to produce images for some of their cocktails from their swanky new menu. Being the nice sort of chap I am, I gladly obliged.  I was given five cocktails to illustrate, but I enjoyed this project so much I decided to do one of them twice.

Pint of Leer

So I have decided to start converting a few of my tweets in pictorial form. This drawing is still in keeping with the etiquette of Twitter, as I managed to use less than 140 characters in it. And on that note, I shall thank you for visiting my blog for the last ever time.

Andrew Graham-Dixon

I was asked to produce a poster and leaflet design for art historian and chief BBC Arts Presenter, Andrew Graham-Dixon, to advertise his Caravaggio lecture series at the Edinburgh Fringe and Edinburgh Arts Festival. The brief called for something that would attract in an audience a little different to Andrew's usual demographic, as the Fringe has a slightly more varied range of visitors. I thought the cherub penises would do the trick.

Good Thrill Hunting

A quick doodle from my sketchbook. Some people might argue that this would have been best kept hidden in my sketchbook. But those would be unkind people.

Hipota Crochet

Another illustration for Amelia's Magazine, again to accompany an article by Jessica Cook. This time the piece was focussinng on Hipota Crochet, the wonderful miniature creations of embroidery artist Kaoru Hirota. Yes I used pink in my drawing again, what of it? http://bit.ly/WRgXyg

Delilah Magazine

This little little was an illustration I produced for Delilah Magazine (www.delilahmagazine.com), to accompany an article on dating. I know what you're thinking, and I agree. That is one damn fine piece of ass.

Commas and Colons.

This was a cover I designed for new online literary magazine, Commas and Colons. It features the lovely work of some delightful writers from around the world, and you should go and have a ruddy good look at it now (it's amazing they don't let me write for them too). Click on the title of this post for a link to the site.

LOL skateboards

A design of mine was recently used for a series of promotional skateboards, for a new soft drink called 'LOL'. The brief called for something that would appeal to an audience of 11 to 16 years olds. I like to think this was 'rad' enough.

Nine heads are better than one.

An idea I was playing around with, having all the characters connected to one another through their hair.

Movember Moustache Creature

This was a competition piece I produced for Creature magazine, as part of an open submission they ran to celebrate Movember. The brief basically asked for a classic moustache shape, to be developed into a character of some sort. Check it here -

Frigid Sid

A quick design I drew up for All Tropical's ongoing t-shirt competiton. No great meaning behind it, other than, I was a bit chilly whilst I was drawing. Finished runner up.
